    Mitsubishi Electric and Koenig & Bauer announce strategic partnership for quality control systems in electrode foil production for battery cell manufacturing
    Mitsubishi Electric, a leading provider of contact image sensors (CIS), and Koenig & Bauer, a pioneer in industrial print applications and inline machine vision systems for various applications have signed a letter of intent for their future cooperation. The strategic partnership will combine the strengths of both companies to offer standardised, high quality machine vision components aimed at optimising the production of electrode foil for battery cells.

    Mitsubishi Electric and Visual Components Form JV for 3D Simulators
    Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) have recently announced that it will partner with Visual Components headquartered in Espoo, Finland in a joint venture company, named ME Industrial Simulation Software Corporation, to develop and sell 3D simulators for manufacturing applications. Mitsubishi Electric and Visual Components will hold 70% and 30% stakes respectively in the company, which will begin operating on November 1.

    Factory-wide visualization streamlines utility management in the “new norm”
    Mitsubishi Electric’s Nagoya Works, one of the company’s main factories developing and manufacturing industrial automation products and systems, introduced a smart visualisation solution to monitor utility data throughout the entire factory. The GENESIS64™ visualisation software, a solution for displaying data in process, infrastructure and manufacturing industries, was leveraged to systematically monitor real-time data remotely from equipment, such as operations and loads, helping to address issues raised by the “new norm”.

    Mitsubishi Electric to Add Second Production Building in Owariasahi, Aichi
    Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced on June 20, 2023, that it will invest an additional 42.5 billion yen, or approximately 275 million euros, to construct a second production building for the manufacture of factory automation (FA) control-system products at Owariasahi City, Aichi Prefecture part of its Nagoya Works campus. The initial investment, announced on March 28, 2022, was for a single production building due to start operations in April 2025. This plan is now being expanded to add a second production building with a planned start of operations slated for April 2027. Overall, this increases the total cumulative investment to 55.5 billion yen, or approximately 360 million euros.
